Shetland Reel Gin

Called 'Original' simply because it was the first distilled product from Saxa Vord Distillery. It is our first core gin bottled at 43% ABV and was launched in October 2014.

The main local botanical is applemint which is grown and harvested in Unst, the most northerly inhabited island in the UK. It contains nine different botanicals including the applemint which gives the gin a delicate freshness. This combined with the cinnamon, coriander and citrus peels to create a well-balanced London Dry Gin.

Tasting Notes:

The initial palate is juniper, mixed spice, sweetness with a citrus tang and a refreshing hint of mint at the end.
