What you are holding is one of 88 individually numbered and engraved bottles drawn from cask No. 3253 — filled on October 10, 1969, and matured for 50 years. When this whisky was distilled, Caperdonich had only recently reopened after six decades of silence. It would close again permanently in 2002. No new Caperdonich will ever be made. The stills are gone. The buildings are gone. Only the whisky remains.

Caperdonich's story began in 1898, was mothballed for around six decades, re-established in 1965, expanded in 1967, and closed for the final time in 2002. This cask was filled during one of the distillery's most productive periods — and it is among the last expressions that will ever exist.

This is The Rarest: Duncan Taylor's most exceptional reserve, created for single cask whiskies of utmost scarcity and sophistication. Each bottle is individually numbered and engraved, presented in a stunning framed box and housed inside a brushed stainless steel carry case. Bottled at 41.46% with no chill filtration and no added color.

Tasting Notes

Color: Antique bronze

Nose: Rich honeyed notes, fragrant hints of orchards in blossom. Beautifully malty and sweet. Walking through the fields of Speyside on a warm summer day.

Palate: Frothy caramel latte topped with cinnamon, with a ginger snap baked with honey on the side. Mouth-coating, intense, and balanced.

Finish: Long lasting, soft gentle warm spices. Subtle notes of sweet toasted oak round off the perfect structure.
