Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky Ltd, is proud to present this highly prestigious malt from its 'Rarest Collection' - a Kinclaith 51 year old single malt whisky from May 28th, 1969. Available globally, this limited release of 95 bottles comes from cask number 301454.
Kinclaith dates back to 1957 when the small malt distillery was housed within the Strathclyde grain distillery complex located on the south side of the River Clyde. Kinclaith was the last single malt whisky distillery until recent times in Glasgow.
The all important ingredients were locally acquired, and the liquid was matured in a combination of American and European oak casks. This producing some of the finest malt whisky over an illustrious 18-year period. The distillery was then closed in 1975 and the only continuation of history is through this exceptional cask. The bottles are all individually numbered and engraved alongside being kept in a stunning framed box and housed inside a brushed stainless steel carry case.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Mahogany
Nose: A box of Parma violet chocolates. Caramelized brown sugar, fragrant sweet oak notes. Robust hints of rich fruit cake soaked in a sweet white wines.
Palate: Even after 50 years the cask remains active offering range of seasonal spices such as clove and cinnamon. A dry crisp palate with a remarkable freshness.
Finish: A beautifully structured whisky with the cask and distillate in perfect harmony. Time is truly the master of perfection.
